Established in 1997, First Base is owner managed and has always been based upon the recognition of the importance of the Client / Agency Partnership. We work closely with each Client in order to understand not only their immediate requirement but also the environment and culture in which our members of staff will work.
From experience, we have found that it is imperative to understand every element of the Clients needs (and constraints) as well as that of the candidate. Each candidate is an individual with their own expectations, needs and ambitions of which we need to be aware prior to a successful placement.
Each candidate is, therefore, interviewed prior to be being placed in order that we correctly identify the candidates skills, knowledge and experience. Our emphasis, after all, is to get it right first time and the time taken at this stage allows us to match candidates not only in terms of salary and vacancy sought but also in terms of Client Culture.
At First Base Employment, great emphasis is placed on an open, conscientious working relationship with both Candidates and Clients.
Establish the ideal candidate profile: We would talk to you in detail to establish the job brief (and use your own job description as appropriate). Although speed of response sometimes dictates otherwise, our objective at this point would be to visit your site in order to communicate with you face to face, see the environment in which our candidates will be working and hence be better placed to gain a better understanding of your business and its likely staffing needs. We would also establish and agree your key selection criteria.
Complete a focused and thorough search exercise: This would be undertaken to an agreed time schedule by an assigned consultant / project team who will target companies and individuals who meet your key selection criteria. We will then interview each candidate, test and reference check them, as necessary, in line with your key selection criteria.
Arrange the first interview: On completion of the initial search work, we will report on our progress (including profiles and CVs of up to 10 people) and agree with you a shortlist of 3-6 candidates to be interviewed.
Maintain continuous contact with candidates: Our project team remains in close contact with each candidate and provides guidance throughout the process until completion. This is often the vital element in achieving a successful outcome with high calibre headhunted candidates who will only move for an outstanding career opportunity.
Arrange the second interview: Following the first interview and detailed candidate and client debrief, we will propose and agree a second interview shortlist with you. Once you have made the decision to recruit a member of our staff, whether it be on a temporary, temp to perm or purely permanent basis, we continue to ensure the placement is a success both for the candidate and for the client. As an Investor in People, we are committed to ensuring that the people we choose to represent and work alongside, are informed at every juncture of our progress when working on a placement. It is also important to us that we are able to continue to support you once your member of staff has started work. |
